No Fire in Hell

I believe hell means eternal death, nothingness, the deads don't even know they existed before. My reasons are as below:

  1. God promises to completely destroy evil, no evil means no suffering.

  2. God will not compromise with Satan and let Satan rule over hell.

  3. How can I be joyful in heaven if there're many souls suffering eternally in hell, including my loved ones?

  4. Eternal suffering serves no purpose at all.
Heaven stands for being with God, being saved and alive eternally, and hence the opposite of heaven - hell means being seperated from God and eternal death. Water represents life, and hence the opposite of water - fire means death. If we use this kind of figurative thinking to interprete the scripture, we will have a complete different understanding of hell.
